LITHOGRAPHIX GOES SOLAR WITH 650kW ARRAY BY THINKSOLAR

Lithographix, Inc., one of the nation’s premier Commercial, Retail and Grand Format printers, is in the midst of a solar energy installation project that will be the largest deployment of solar power infrastructure of any U.S. commercial printer. National solar integrator, ThinkSolar is managing the 650kW turnkey project, which represents not only the first photovoltaic (PV) installation in the City of Hawthorne but one of the largest commercial roof-mounted PV systems in California.

The rooftop array at Lithographix’s 250,000 square foot facility near Los Angeles International Airport, features Schott ASE300 solar panels, selected for their durability and double glass encapsulation, Solectria inverters and a custom-designed UniRac ballast racking system.

Project completion will be in early December. The clean energy produced by solar will be enough to power 390 homes annually. The array is expected to offset Lithographix’s energy demands by 30% and reduce their carbon emissions by 630 tons per year. This reduction is equivalent to removing the annual emissions of 125 automobiles.

“We are proud to help Lithographix reduce their carbon footprint as they transition away from fossil-based fuels toward advanced technologies that are economically competitive and environmentally benign” says ThinkSolar CEO Elmar Niewerth. Adds Lithographix President Herb Zebrack, “We have always strived to be the leader in our industry. This bold green move just reconfirms our commitment, not only to our industry, but to our community as well”.
